The owners of all
houses within the Route Corridor are being visited today by selected
teams to explain how the process develops from here. A letter has been
sent to all property owners potentially affected by the Preferred Route
Corridor. They are being invited to a private consultation at various
venues this week.
A general pubic Exhibition of the Preferred Route Corridor and associated link
roads (connecting the new route to Athy and Kilkenny) will take place over
the next two weeks. 1) Details Of time and venues will appear in the Local
Press, and On Local Radio, and in leaflets being distributed to homes within
the Study Area. There will be a static exhibition of the route Corridor at
various venues until the end of November.
The public are invited to make submissions before the end of November, if possible.
Following this Public Consultation a Route Selection Report will be finalised.
The new road will be designed to High Quality Dual Carriageway/Motorway Standard,
with limited access.
In general, existing
roads will remain open, with the provision of underbridges or overbridges,
therefore maintaining access to local towns and villages.
